RETURN TO EARTH is a film i created in my sophomore year of high school in my film II course. i wanted to tell a complete story with minimal dialogue and no facial expression, resulting in the story being told through the music, editing, and tempo of the film. this project helped me improve my technical skills as well as my prop-making skills as i approached the task of creating a spaceship that can fit a human, a mask with a reflective visor, and fake puddles. this project was definitely a challenge, being my longest and most ambitious project. though i have grown as a filmmaker, i still love this film as a time capsule of my ideas, creative styles, and technical ability. this film took me about 45 hours to create, film, and edit, and it was worth every minute. RETURN TO EARTH was screened at the POLY FILM FEST in 2023.

ECLIPSE is a film i created over the course of my junior year through 2 independent studies. unbeknownst to me at the inception of this film, there was actually a real-life eclipse to occur in april of 2024 as i was editing my final draft of the film. i spent the first semester solidly in pre-production, finding ways to translate my ideas of forest spirits and mischievous stars to the screen. i decorated masks, experimented with paper mache, sewed outfits, baked for a picnic, and spent hours location scouting. i enlisted 2 friends of mine to spend 2 days filming with me as SUN and MOON, the first day spent a couple of hours deep in the los angeles national forest and the other hours north to the beaches of malibu. though challenging to film, i was able to play around in editing with color correction and visual effects. ECLIPSE was screened at the POLY FILM FEST in 2024.
